Summer school: advanced technologies for development and operation of oil and gas fields onshore and offshore

Courses and lectures on topics that are not included in the list of mandatory in the University curriculum are offered more frequent in the format of summer schools. The Department of Computer Aided Design of Oil and Gas Industry Facilities at Gubkin University successfully hosted the international youth summer school “Advanced technologies for development and operation of oil and gas fields onshore and offshore”.

The School was organized as a part of the cooperation program between Gubkin University and Clausthal University of Technology (Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Germany).

Among the participants there were students from Russia, Germany, Norway, Belarus and Kazakhstan. The total number of listeners reached 20.

The Summer School program included the following academic courses: methodology of project management in the oil and gas industry, advanced AutoCAD, underground gas storage, modern drilling technologies, characteristics of offshore oil and gas field development. The Head of the Department of Computer Aided Design of Oil and Gas Industry Facilities at Gubkin University Ivan Starokon, the Head of the Office for Strategic Development at Gubkin University Pavel Kalashnikov, the Lecture of the Department of Computer Aided Design of Oil and Gas Industry Facilities at Gubkin University Alexander Ermakov and the Professor from Clausthal University of Technology Viktor Reitenbach took part in implementing this academic project.

The Department is aimed to further develop international cooperation in various formats, including the organization of annual research and academic summer schools.
