Over 500 participants in the correspondence round, including 64 of the country's best students from 24 universities, competed in the finals of the 3rd All-Russian Student Olympiad "Automation and Informatization of the Fuel and Energy Complex."
From December 10 to 14, 2025, the Zaluchye Educational and Training Center hosted the finals of the 3rd All-Russian Student Olympiad "Automation and Informatization of the Fuel and Energy Complex." The Olympiad was organized by the Department of Automation of Technological Processes of the Faculty of Automation and Computer Engineering at Gubkin University. The Olympiad brought together students from leading Russian technical universities, representatives of industry, the scientific community, and industrial partners.
Sixty-four of the strongest students from 24 Russian universities competed for first place, while more than ten experts representing companies monitored the event's integrity.
"Today, Gubkin University is a place where all regions of Russia come together and 97 countries are represented." "The Olympiad, born as a student initiative, has become a nationwide movement, creating a professional community, friendships, and lifelong connections," noted the Olympiad organizers.
Over the course of four days, participants solved complex engineering and analytical problems based on real-life industry challenges: the tasks simulated practical scenarios for energy resource transportation facilities, industrial automation systems, and digital control systems.
"The Olympiad is not just a student competition, but a meeting place for the country's intellectual potential. You, the competition participants, are not just students; you are the designers of the technological future of Russia's fuel and energy complex," Gubkin University Rector Viktor Martynov emphasized in his opening speech.
In preparing for the Olympiad, special attention was paid to the current challenges facing the fuel and energy complex. The tasks were developed with the participation of leading domestic manufacturers and customers in the field of industrial automation. Transneft PJSC and its subsidiaries, RegLab LLC, the general sponsor, and event partners and sponsors such as ElMetro-Engineering LLC, TREI JSC, Atomic Soft JSC, and MASTER PRODUCTION SOFT AND SYSTEMS LLC, which provided expert support, software, and specialized equipment, made significant contributions to the development of the tasks and the conduct of the Olympiad.
The program featured more than just problem-solving activities – lectures and meetings with leading industry experts, master classes conducted by Gubkin Dron and Gubkin Tsifra, and concerts by the university's creative groups – throughout the event.
On December 12, 2025, in honor of Russian Constitution Day, the "Thank You for Courage" campaign was held. Participants wrote words of gratitude, support, and best wishes to the special military operation fighters on behalf of themselves and their universities.
The overall winners of the Olympiad were:
— First place – Ilya Kraynov, a student at the A.A. Leonov Technical University (MIIGAiK branch);
— Second place – Yulia Basalaeva, a student at Gubkin University;
— Third place – Danila Bratsun, a student at the Tyumen Industrial University.
Following the Olympiad, all participants were awarded certificates, and the category winners received diplomas and commemorative prizes from partners and the university.
