Gubkin University representatives attended SKOLKOVO Energy Summer School

On July 24 - 29, 2017 SKOLKOVO Energy Summer School was hosted by the Energy Center of Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO. 20 representatives from Gubkin University, including current and former undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students from various faculties participated in this unique educational project.

The Energy Summer School brought together 140 students, postgraduates and young professionals interested in energy issues and selected for participation in the project based on the competition results. Gubkin University delegation became the largest one.

Distinctive features of the Summer School program were integration of theory and practice, interdisciplinarity and encyclopedic coverage – during one week participants obtained a capacious overview of all fuel and energy segments, including oil, gas, coal, electric power and heat power industries.

The Summer School program was very intensive and included lectures delivered by specialists with an academic background, operations managers from well-known industry companies, energy analysts and experts from research organizations. Participants could ask questions directly and consult any invited lecturer or speaker. The program also implied various interactive activities, including business games and field tours around the Skolkovo Technopark, the Campus of Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO and MOSENERGO CHP-26.

The most active and motivated participants were awarded valuable gifts. The 2016 graduate from the Faculty of Economics and Management at Gubkin University Amina Talipova shared the victory with a student from New Economic School and received a collection of world renowned industry publications as a gift as well as an opportunity to get paid internship at the Energy Center of Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO.

“Modern energy sector is an exciting and dynamically developing field, for successful operation of which fresh ideas are needed. Only highly qualified specialists capable to think globally will be able to effectively develop it. The future of Russian energy sector is yours!” – said the Director of the Energy Center of Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO Tatyana Mitrova.

The Energy Summer School project is planned to be regular – the next school will be held in 2018.
