The "Great Ethnographic Dictation" is an educational project aimed at introducing the cultures of the peoples of Russia and assessing their level of ethnocultural literacy. Participants were asked to answer 30 federal questions in a test format. The maximum score was 100. The time limit for completing the tasks was 45 minutes.
The dictation was initiated in 2016 by the Ministry of National Policy of the Udmurt Republic and active youth of Udmurtia, inspired by the idea of the "Total Dictation" in Russian.
The goal of the event was to assess the ethnographic literacy of citizens and draw attention to the development of tools for maintaining interethnic peace and harmony.
