Happy Knowledge Day!

Dear students, PhD students, and faculty,

Congratulations on Knowledge Day and the beginning of the new academic year!

For our first-year students, September 1 will become an important step into adult life and the start of an exciting and eventful student journey. This year, the Gubkin family has grown by more than 2,500 new students!

You have enrolled in the country’s flagship oil and gas university and chosen an extremely responsible and important profession – that of a subsurface explorer. Through it, you will learn about the structure and history of the Earth, mineral resources, geological processes, modern technologies of oil and gas production and transportation, and you will also master other important disciplines and gain practical skills. A challenging but fascinating and interesting path lies ahead of you. I am confident that most of you will successfully complete your studies, go on to achieve great results in your chosen field, and work for the benefit of our Fatherland.

Throughout your entire student journey at Gubkin University, you will be accompanied by the best teachers and experienced experts from the oil and gas industry – doctors and candidates of sciences with extensive research and professional experience.
