From October 15 to 17, 2025, Anatoly Fedash, Head of the Department of Geoecology; Vadim Shabunya, Associate Professor of the Department of Mining, Land, and Environmental Law; and students from Gubkin University participated in the international forum "Russian Energy Week," which was held at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall and Gostiny Dvor in Moscow.
The forum became a key platform for discussing pressing issues related to the development of Russia's fuel and energy complex in the current environment and brought together leading industry experts, government officials, academia, and business.
The three-day event addressed current issues in the energy industry:
– global energy markets: the transformation of relations and the balance of interests in the face of sanctions and geopolitical tensions;
– Petrochemicals: New opportunities in the energy transition and the creation of high-value-added industries;
– Training personnel for the energy sector of the future: Current challenges in developing professional engineering staff and industry leaders;
– Ecology and efficiency in the fuel and energy sector: Combining environmental requirements with production efficiency.
The forum focused on the role of higher education institutions in training specialists for the energy sector. Issues related to creating an environment for education, training, and the development of engineering solutions with the broad involvement of universities and continuing education centers were discussed.
Anatoly Fedash, Head of the Department of Geoecology, actively participated in the session "Equation for the Fuel and Energy Sector: How to Combine Efficiency and Ecology." The session addressed current pollutant emission requirements, emission quota systems, and technological solutions for improving environmental safety.
As part of the forum's Youth Day, Associate Professor Vadim Shabunya and students from the Department of Mining, Land, and Environmental Law participated in the international scientific and practical conference "Energy Legal Dialogue in a Multipolar World – the Perspectives of Youth, Government, Science, and Business," organized by the V.A. Musin Energy Law Center, as well as other program events.
