Gubkin University Students Win "League of Future Professionals 2026" Tournament

On September 4, 2026, the final of the "League of Future Professionals 2026" tournament took place in Omsk. The event was organized by the Logistics, Processing, and Sales Division of Gazprom Neft PJSC.

The tournament’s initial stages involved over 250 students from universities across Russia, specializing in five key fields: Oil Refining Technology, Oil Refining Mechanics, Industrial Automation, Energy Systems, and Aviation Fuel Supply.

Following the qualifying rounds, 48 students advanced to the final. Among them were nine representatives from Gubkin University—all members of the Student Scientific Society: Leonid Beloyarov (Group XT-23-04), Nikita Brinkevich (Group MTM-25-02), Sergey Klyachkin (Group XTM-25-01), Evgeny Krivenko (Group XTM-25-03), Sergey Maslov (Group XTM-26-01), Alexey Muravkin (Group XTM-25-01), Safiya Rakhimova (Group XE-24-09), Polina Seregina (Group XE-23-10), and Ekaterina Shikina (Group XTM-25-03).

The final competition program consisted of three consecutive stages, each designed to assess different participant competencies.

The first stage involved in-depth professional testing tailored to each of the five specializations; participants were required to solve problems modeled on real-world industrial tasks.

The second stage served as the key challenge, taking the form of a large-scale business simulation that modeled a real production scenario amidst conditions of high uncertainty. The third and final stage took the form of an intellectual quiz designed to assess "soft skills," such as logical thinking, creativity, the ability to identify unconventional connections between phenomena, and the capacity to look beyond standard solutions.

Based on the total scores achieved across all three stages, ten participants were named winners of the final; among them were two Gubkin University students: Sergey Maslov (group KhTM-26-01) and Ekaterina Shikina (group KhTM-25-03).

The participation of Gubkin University’s Student Scientific Society members in external events is carried out as part of the Society’s development program, "Strategy of New Discoveries."
