Gubkin University students are winners and prize winners of recitation competitions dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory

On April 24, 2025, foreign students of Gubkin University took part in the XIX Open Olympiad in Russian for foreign students of non-philological universities of Russia "Your Victory in Our Hearts" for the first time, held at the National Research University "MPEI".

The recitation competition was attended by students of the preparatory department Jean Baptiste Komate with the poem by Alexander Yashin "Ballad of the Tank", Sheikh Taleb Ahyar Emrabih Rabu with the poem by Konstantin Simonov "Wait for Me", undergraduate students Alberto Alava with the poem by Robert Rozhdestvensky "Concert", Adriana Albertu with an excerpt from the poem by Margarita Aliger "Zoya", in the song competition (solo) Francisco Gonzalez performed the song "Dark Night", accompanying himself on the guitar. The debut of the students was successful: Sheikh Taleb took first place in the initial group, Adriana Albertu and Alberto Alava shared second place in the main group. The winner and prize-winners were prepared by teachers of the Russian language department Galina Tretyakova and Irina Alexandrova.

A month earlier, these same student readers also took part for the first time in the online recitation competition among students and postgraduates from Asian and African countries, “Victory in the Hearts of Generations,” held by the Russian Committee for Solidarity and Cooperation with the Peoples of Asia and Africa. Almost 1,000 foreign students and postgraduates from 79 countries and 124 universities took part in the competition. Adriana Albertu became a prize winner in this competition.

The award ceremony for the winners and prize winners will take place in the Hall of Fame of the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Gora, and immediately after that they will have a sightseeing tour of St. Petersburg.
