Gubkin University faculty members became the winners of the All-Russian Competitions “Engineer of the Year – 2020” and “Hope of Russia”

The Russian and International Unions of Scientific and Engineering Public Associations summed up the results of the 21th All-Russian Competition “Engineer of the Year – 2020” and the All-Russian Competition for Young Scientists and Specialists in Science and Technology “Hope of Russia”. The award ceremony was timed to coincide with the Year of Science and Technology.

The competition aims to find the best engineers, popularize engineering, promote achievements and experience, and draw the attention of government agencies to issues of engineering in Russia.

The All-Russian Competition “Engineer of the Year” is held annually in 45 nominations in two sections: “Professional Engineers” – for participants in the competition who have at least 5 years of engineering experience and “Engineering of the Young” – for young professionals under the age of up to 30 years inclusive. The competition takes place in 2 rounds. The winners are awarded with a diploma of the jury of the competition, a commemorative medal “Laureate of the competition” and are entered in the Register of Professional Engineers of Russia.

According to the results of 2020, Gubkin University faculty members became the winners in both sections:

Mr. Roman Barashkin, Associate Professor of the Department of Automation of Technological Processes, Mr. Dmitry Lambin, Associate Professor of the Department of Oil Field Development and Operation, and Mr. Konstantin Sergeev, Associate Professor of the Department of Exploration Geophysics and Computer Systems became the winners in the Professional Engineers section and received a commemorative medal “Laureate of the competition”.

Mr. Boris Anikushin, Engineer of the Department of Physical and Colloid Chemistry, Mr. Aleksey Gorin, Engineer of the Department of Exploration Geophysics and Computer Systems, Ms. Darya Petrova, Senior Researcher of the Laboratory of Functional Aluminosilicate Nanomaterials, and Mr. Mikhail Fedoseev, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Gas and Oil Pipelines Engineering and Operation became the winners in the Engineering of the Young section and received a commemorative medal “Laureate of the competition”. Mr. Kirill Goridko, Postgraduate Student of the Department of Oil Field Development and Operation, became the first round winner in the Engineering of the Young section.

Ms. Darya Petrova, Senior Researcher of the Laboratory of Functional Aluminosilicate Nanomaterials, was awarded the prize of the Ambassador of China to Russia, established in 2020 as part of the Cross Year of Russian-Chinese scientific, technical and innovation cooperation, and included in the list of key events of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

The laureates of the prize of the Ambassador of China to Russia were awarded a personal certificate and with the financial support of the Embassy of China in Russia received the opportunity to travel to China and visit research institutions and relevant enterprises.
