A university student is among the winners of the Russian U20 Junior Track and Field Championships.
From June 26 to 28, 2026, the Russian U20 Junior Track and Field Championships were held in Kazan. The competition brought together the strongest young athletes from across the country. Gubkin University was represented by first-year student Ekaterina Kotova (KhT-25-03).
The athlete demonstrated a high level of training and demonstrated impressive results in two sprint events. In the 100-meter dash, Ekaterina Kotova won a silver medal, finishing with a time of 11.72 seconds. This result allowed her to achieve the "Master of Sports of Russia" standard, a significant achievement for an athlete of such a young age.
In addition, in the 200-meter race, Ekaterina Kotova showed the best time among all participants, reaching the top step of the podium with a result of 24.07 seconds.
