Gubkin's OPEC+ Model
On March 26-27, Gubkin University will host the OPEC+ Model, organized by the international committee of the Gubkin University student scientific society.
This is a practice-oriented role-playing game, during which participants will be able to imagine themselves in the process of the OPEC+ association, make key decisions, and improve their skills as leaders, diplomats and team players.
The general idea of the Model is "Global Energy Stability in the Context of Geopolitical Changes."
There will be two committees:
– "Oil Oversupply: The Impact of Geopolitical Changes on the Balance of Oil Supply and Demand in the Global Market" – Model in Russian
– "Logistics of the Future: Alternative Routes in an Era of Geopolitical Turbulence" – Model in English
In addition to the two committee meetings (in English and Russian), the event will include:
– lectures from specialists;
– training sessions on the model;
– photos for participants;
– prizes for the winners.
School students, university students, and young researchers are invited to participate.
Event schedule:
Day 1 — March 26 (beginning at 12:00)
12:00-12:15 — Opening ceremony
12:20-14:10 — Mini-lectures from invited experts
14:10-14:40 — Break
14:40-18:00 — Meetings of the model committees (Russian and English): training, distribution of countries, presentation of positions, formal and informal debates, formation of coalitions. The beginning of work on the declaration.
Day 2 — March 27 (starting at 11:00)
11:00-13:00 — Committee meetings: feedback from experts on draft presentation, making edits. Draft presentation, questions and answers (formal debates)
13:00-13:30 — Break
13:30-17:00 — Committee meetings: informal debates, selection of the final declaration. Writing the final declaration, signing it and voting
17:00-18:00 — Closing ceremony: summing up the results, awarding of delegates
