Oil and gas companies cannot successfully operate in commercial environment without competent economists, analysts, financial experts and accountants.
Knowledge in the field of engineering and technology, modern industrial management give an advantage to Gubkin University graduates – they are able to manage costs, assess risks and calculate economic efficiency of investments in fuel and energy complex projects, focusing on the specifics of the industry. These specialists are able to analyze the situation on the market, the demand for work and services in all spheres of the fuel and energy complex. They have knowledge of human resources management, are able to think strategically, have analysis, planning and forecasting skills, can offer an effective strategy for development of the company and ways to achieve business goals.
Graduates of the Faculty of Economics and Management work for the organizations that are part of the Ministry for Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation and carry out geological prospecting and exploration activities in the oil and gas industry throughout the country; for the state and municipal government of the Ministry for Energy and the Ministry for Economic Development of the Russian Federation, for oil and gas companies.

Students study basic technical, economic, management disciplines, the foreign language, computer technologies.
Facts from history
The Faculty of Economics and Management was founded in 1930. The Faculty trains high-level specialists capable to provide economic, financial, human resources and other services for the Russian oil and gas industry organizations. The training of specialists with higher education, candidates and doctors of economic sciences is given by one general scientific and seven administering departments, including two specialized departments.
