The Open Days are a traditional event held at Gubkin University every semester, which helps prospective students to get better understanding of the academic training offered by the University, application requirements and student's life. This time the prospective students were able to receive answers to many questions directly from the University administration and faculty and staff members.

About 800 prospective students visited Gubkin University to learn about the prospects for higher education in the oil and gas field. Over 7,000 participants watched the online broadcast organized for those who did not have the opportunity to attend the event in person.

The event was held in the Palace of Culture «Gubkinets» named after Professor V.N. Vinogradov and was opened by welcome messages of Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University, Professor Vladimir Koshelev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Mr. Viktor Pirozhkov, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee.

“Good afternoon, dear friends, to everyone who present here and who is watching us online. Traditionally, we hold the Open Days twice a year – in March and November. However, today we have organized an additional meeting to give you one more opportunity to choose the right specialty, the one you really like because the main thing for applicants is to choose the right direction. There are many universities, and even more specialties. One cannot make a mistake because academic years cannot be repeated,” said Professor Viktor Martynov.

The choir of the Military Training Center, sports and creative teams of Gubkin University as well as a team of 25 foreign students performed within the framework of the event.

The faculty meetings were held afterwards to provide the prospective students with more details about the faculties, academic programs, admission requirements, and the academic process.
