Gubkin University hosted the Forum of Student Unions of the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation

On 24-28 February 2021, the Forum of Student Unions of the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation was held in Moscow. The event was organized by Gubkin University with the support of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh).

The Forum brought together over 100 representatives of student clubs and unions from 17 regions of the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation.

During the opening ceremony, Mr. Anton Tumanov, Head of the Department of Youth Projects and Initiatives at Gubkin University, presented a welcome message on behalf of Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University: “Supporting talented youth and student initiatives is one of the priorities of Gubkin University. The development and implementation of projects intended to solve a range of issues of the modern world is a big and very important work. Annually, Gubkin University implements events to create conditions for identifying talented students, supporting their ideas and initiatives.”

The Forum was aimed to strengthen horizontal communication between student clubs of the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation. During the Forum the participants developed their leadership and team building skills, communicated with their peers and experts during the networking and lightning sessions, as well as learnt from professionals at the panel discussions.

The program of the Forum included three key modules:

  • “Event constructor” aimed to strengthen participants’ skills of event design and planning, provide an overview of a step-by-step algorithm for organizing events of a student community.
  • “Partners: search for resources” aimed to discuss mechanisms and approaches to mobilize the necessary resources of a student community, including such topics as project management, flexible project management, affiliate marketing.
  • “Community architecture: launch and implementation algorithm” aimed to share knowledge and experience in the development of a brand, internal culture, values, communication network and other important issues for the long-term existence of a student community.

The program included master classes, training seminars on building communities from scratch. In addition, the participants learnt about the National League of Student Clubs – the way it helps active students in building a community and supports existing unions and clubs of interest.

The National League of Student Clubs is a project of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs implemented by the Resource Youth Center within the framework of the federal project “Social Activism” of the national project “Education”. This is an ecosystem for interaction and communication of young people with their peers, which is designed to create opportunities for personal fulfillment of students.
