Gubkin University held its first student forum “Mestorozhdenie”

On 16 – 19 February 2023, the first student forum “Mestorozhdenie” was held by Gubkin University at Zaluchye Academic and Industry Center.

A three-day event brought together students from different universities, including Gubkin University and its Orenburg Branch, Melitopol State University, Donetsk National Technical University, the University of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation, Southwest State University and Astrakhan State Technical University. Participation in the event was competitive – out of 300 applicants, 121 were invited to come.

Gubkin University leadership and invited guests became the speakers of the forum. Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University, delivered a lecture “The World Today and Tomorrow, or on the Way to a New World” and replied a number of topical questions asked by the participants. At the forum, the participants were divided into nine teams and were supervised by 12 mentors. The event program included three areas of activities – “Manage”, “Create” and “Contribute”. Every participant acquired experience in one of the areas, worked with a team, speakers and experts, and gained new knowledge and acquaintances.

During the forum, the participants also received an opportunity to attend the play "Morphine" based on the novel by Mikhail Bulgakov, to participate in an interactive training "Three Walls", an intellectual tournament "BIT" and a volleyball championship.

The forum program included individual and team social design activities. Invited speakers guided the participants to help them draft and present their projects in one of three areas. During the forum, over 100 projects were designed, six of which were named the best and received support from the administration of Gubkin University. During the closing ceremony, the best individual and team projects were awarded.
