Geologists Day was celebrated at Gubkin University

On 31 March 2023, a special event dedicated to the Geologists Day and the 93d anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics was held in the Palace of Culture "Gubkinets" at Gubkin University.

The event brought together representatives of leading oil and gas Russian companies and government agencies, as well as Gubkin University graduates, students and faculty and staff members.

Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University, delivered an opening speech and congratulated peer geologists on the event emphasizing their outstanding contribution to the development of the oil and gas industry.

Ms. Olga Postnikova, Dean of the Faculty of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics at Gubkin University, read out the message of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the Geologists Day. Mr. Evgeny Petrov, Head, of the Federal Agency for Subsoil Use, Mr. Gennady Piven, President of the Academy of Mining Sciences of Russia, Mr. Sergey Akhmedsafin, Deputy Department Head at Gazprom PJSC, and Mr. Ilya Obraztsov, Managing Director of GeoPrime LLC, greeted the participants.

The event program included a concert organized with the participation of creative and sports teams of Gubkin University.
