Annual Reporting Meeting of Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter

On May 24, 2016 the Annual Reporting Meeting took place at Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas. This event became final for the activists of Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter in academic year 2015 – 2016. At the meeting the heads of the committees reported on the results achieved during the year.

The main events of 2015-2016 were the 7th International Youth Scientific and Practical Congress "Oil & Gas Horizons", the 2nd BRICS Youth Summit in the fuel and energy industry, the 1st International Oil and Gas Majoring Students Forum "New Generation: Across the Universe", OPEC Model. Aside from that, the activists organized and participated in a number of smaller events.

The mission of Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter is involvement of students into international scientific environment. Therefore, four educational travels were made over the reporting academic year: twice to Vietnam, once to Austria and Hungary. The activists attended the SPE Regional Student Development Summit in Baku, Azerbaijan; the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) in Houston, USA; the 10th KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum in Astana, Kazakhstan; the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Student Summit in Barnaul, Russia. In addition, students of Gubkin University had an opportunity to present their scientific papers at conferences in Poland, Kazakhstan, Tyumen, Vietnam and China.

Distinguished guests, including representatives from the SPE Moscow Section, Schlumberger Company as well as the university faculty and staff, also gave speeches at the Annual Meeting. All guests marked the Chapter’s achievements of the year, and awarded the best activists and Oil & Gas Horizons Congress volunteers with memorable certificates.

SPE Gold Standard international award and the reward for victory in the category "The best system of international student cooperation" in the All-Russian competition on the best organization of activities of student’s self-government in higher education institutions – became indicators of excellent work of the Chapter.
