Gubkin University entered the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities

Gubkin University is ranked the seventeenth among the Russian universities entered the annual Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) by academic subjects.

In 2018, the universities were ranked in 54 subjects across Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences. In total, more than 4000 universities were ranked.

Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University, Tomsk State University, Novosibirsk State University, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Higher School of Economics, Gubkin University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, National University of Science and Technology MISiS, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, Ural Federal University, Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod, Belgorod State University, ITMO University, New Economic School were included in the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities 2018.

Gubkin University together with Moscow State University became 401st-500th in Chemical Technology.

According to expert opinions, ARWU Ranking is one of the most difficult for Russian universities as publications with international co-authorship as well as publications in top-rated journals, and winners of the most prestigious scientific awards, including the Nobel Prize holders, are taken into account.
