The Head of Orenburg Branch at Gubkin University met with the Minister of Industry and Energy of the Orenburg Region

A working meeting of Professor Sergey Gorshenin, Head of Orenburg Branch at Gubkin University and Andrey Borodin, Minister of Industry and Energy of the Orenburg Region was held in Orenburg, Russia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation as well as a range of issues related to training and retraining of specialists for the oil and gas industry.

It is noted that 77% of the total number of students at Orenburg Branch are presently employed in the oil and gas industry. Employees who do not have specialized education, but engaged at local oil and gas enterprises, have the opportunity to undergo professional retraining at the Branch. Over the past three years, about two hundred specialists have received additional professional training at Orenburg Branch of Gubkin University.

The parties also discussed the possibility of Gubkin University being involved in resolving the issue of oil-associated gas utilization in the region.

As part of the meeting, the Minister of Industry and Energy of the Orenburg Region was given a tour around the facilities and resources of Gubkin University and became familiar with the training system at Orenburg Branch.
