Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and President of LUKOIL visited Gubkin University

On 10 November 2020, Mr. Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and Mr. Vagit Alekperov, President and CEO of PJSC LUKOIL, paid a working visit to Gubkin University to participate in the opening of the second stage of the oil and gas training and research site, which was developed with the support of PJSC LUKOIL on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Gubkin University.

During the visit, Mr. Valery Falkov and Mr. Vagit Alekperov examined the research and educational infrastructure of the university, including the virtual training center for well drilling and the center for field development control. At the end of the meeting, Dr. Nikita Golunov, Vice-Rector for Continuing Professional Education, Associate professor of the Department of Gas and Oil Pipelines Engineering and Operation, delivered a presentation in the open lecture hall of the Large Academic Hall about scientific and technical cooperation between Gubkin University and oil and gas companies.

The event marked the results of the continuing work started by PJSC LUKOIL in 2017 with the reconstruction of the first stage of the training site for machinery and equipment of the oil and gas industry. During the construction of the second stage, a high-contrast LED display, educational and residential stationary premises and demonstration tables for studying equipment, units and parts were installed at the site. The training and research site allows to conducts practical studies on an ongoing basis with students and trainees of advanced training programs offered by the Faculty of Oil and Gas Field Development and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Gubkin University.

Mr. Ravil Maganov, Chairman of PJSC LUKOIL Board of Directors, Mr. Anatoly Moskalenko, Vice President for Human Resources Management and Social Policy at PJSC LUKOIL, Dr. Vladimir Koshelev, Vice-Rector for Academic Work at Gubkin University, Dr. Alexander Maksimenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Affairs at Gubkin University, Dr. Pyotr Pyatibratov, Dean of the Faculty of Oil and Gas Field Development at Gubkin University and Dr. Dmitry Lambin, Associate Professor of the Department of Oil Field Development and Operation at Gubkin University also participated in the opening ceremony.
