Gubkin University became part of the Far East Multi-University

On 24 July 2020, the memorandum on the establishment of the Far East Multi-University was signed in the format of an online conference. 15 universities of Russia became participants of the network project, including Gubkin University.

According to the memorandum, a multi-university is a project aimed at cooperation between the regions of the Russian Federation, business and scientific organizations, Russian and foreign universities for the creation, testing and scaling of new educational programs and scientific and technological initiatives focused on the needs of the strategic development of the territories of the Far East.

The signed memorandum indicates that its participants are expressing interest in establishing the Far East Multi-University. Over the next five years, the participating universities are going to, among other things, develop and launch joint network educational programs using modern digital educational technologies. The memorandum was signed as part of the extensive work under the Order of the Government of the Russian Federation of 18 August 2018.

As the leading oil and gas institution of the country, Gubkin University was entrusted to establish specialized divisions at Sakhalin State University, Pacific National University and Amur State University. In particular, a two-year cooperation between Gubkin University and Sakhalin State University resulted in a new modular professional program "Petroleum Engineering", which was specially developed by Gubkin University to train engineers in the oil and gas industry and implemented at Sakhalin State University.

The memorandum on the establishment of the multi-university will contribute to further development of the cooperation between Gubkin University and Sakhalin State University aimed at training specialists and conducting research within the framework of the implementation of the Order of the Government of the Russian Federation of 18 August 2018.
