Gubkin University and the Government of the Omsk Region signed a cooperation agreement

On 19 January 2021, a cooperation agreement was signed between Gubkin University and the Government of the Omsk Region. The parties agreed on the implementation of joint projects in educational, research, development and experimental areas, which will allow in the shortest possible time to establish sustainable growth points for the development of education in the oil and gas industry.

Mr. Alexander Burkov, Governor and Chair of the Government of the Omsk Region, Mr. Dmitry Maevsky, Rector ad interim of Omsk State Technical University, Mr. Roman Smelik, Rector ad interim of Dostoevsky Omsk State University as well as Mr. Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University, and Mr. Vladimir Koshelev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Gubkin University, participated in the official ceremony.

“The partnership between Gubkin University and the Omsk Region continues for a long time: we have a large oil refining center and many of your graduates work at our enterprises – over four thousand people. We have the largest refineries in the region, so we are very interested in the knowledge, skills and developments of the university. I am convinced that cooperation will be for the benefit of our state and the oil industry”, said Mr. Alexander Burkov, Governor of the Omsk Region.

“We are interested in cooperation with the Omsk Region, we have a huge center for additional professional education, where nine thousand specialists were trained under various programs in 2019. We have your faculty members. We also conduct classes at Omsk factories, and the support from the region is very tangible. We are ready for fruitful cooperation,” noted Mr. Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University.

The partnership implies assistance in the development of interregional and international cooperation, support in the implementation of an interdisciplinary approach in organizing the educational process. The parties also agreed to organize and conduct scientific and educational events.

Through cooperation between the University and the Administration of the Omsk Region, students will have the opportunity to undergo practical training in government authorities, as well as various organizations of the Omsk Region.

An important factor for the development of bilateral partnership will be the launch of joint research programs and innovative projects aimed at developing both the Region and Gubkin University.
