Gubkin University and Shell expand cooperation in education and research

On 10 February 2022, Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University, Ms. Ekaterina Grushetskaya, Shell Country Chair Russia, and Mr. Sergey Starodubtsev, General Director of Shell Neft, signed a memorandum of cooperation defining the main areas of cooperation between Shell and Gubkin University for the period up to 2024.

The signed document provides for a wide range of joint activities and initiatives. In particular, Gubkin University students will have the opportunity to do an internship at Shell lubricant blending plant in Torzhok, Tver Oblast, Russian Federation and receive grants for the implementation of research projects. Shell employees will be able to joint round tables held on oil and gas issues by the University faculty.

The educational program «Process Unit Operator» will continue to be offered on the basis of Torzhok State Industrial and Humanitarian College. Launched in 2021 for the needs of Shell lubricant factory, this program was developed and is successfully implemented under the guidance of Gubkin University specialists.

It is important to note that we invest annually a lot of effort to expand our mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields. I am sure that by joint efforts we will be able to successfully implement a number of interesting and promising projects in the field of education and research activities,” said Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University.
