Gubkin University and Gazprom Neft concluded a cooperation agreement. The document was signed by the Rector of Gubkin University Viktor Martynov and the Deputy General Director for Offshore Projects Development of Gazprom Neft Andrey Patrushev. The parties agreed to continue joint work aimed at further development of national technologies for the exploration and development of the Russian continental shelf, as well as improvement of the quality of training.

Within the framework of this agreement, joint research activities will continue. The University’s Engineering Center, under the agreement with Gazprom Neft Shelf, developed the working design documentation and produced spare parts, tools and supplies for the mud pump of the Prirazlomnaya platform. At present, the Division of Offshore Projects Development at Gazprom Neft considers the University's proposals in almost thirty areas of possible R&D.

“The agreement will become a new step towards our active cooperation with Gazprom Neft, which is already developing in various directions: from implementing the developed solutions of our Engineering Center to training innovative specialists for the company. Together, we work for the benefit of the oil industry in general. By joining efforts, we develop and improve industry professional standards, create competency models and relevant educational programs. I am sure that the work under the agreement with Gazprom Neft will allow them to be updated in accordance with the requests of the company and the industry as a whole,” says Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University.

The company has been supporting the Joint Master’s degree program offered by Gubkin University in partnership with University of Stavanger (Norway) “Offshore field development technology”. The new agreement will consolidate the opportunity of potential graduate students from among the company's employees to work on their research through in-service training.

“Gubkin University is a recognized industry research and education institution. The agreement will allow Gazprom Neft to participate in the development of new technologies in the field of oil production in order to remain constantly in the trend. Cooperation with one of the leading universities in the oil and gas industry will help our employees improve their professional level and gain unique knowledge and competencies necessary to work on the shelf,” Andrey Patrushev, Deputy General Director for Offshore Projects Development of Gazprom Neft.
