Gubkin University faculty members visited the Regional Preparatory Department in Bukhara
On 5-6 November 2022, a group of Gubkin University faculty members visited Bukhara, Uzbekistan to establish and launch a new Regional Preparatory Department of the University. The visit was held in accordance with the roadmap adopted following the meeting of Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University, and Mr. Mehriddin Abdullayev, Chair of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.
Mr. Viktor Telkov, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee at Gubkin University, Mr. Abdulla Magrupov, Deputy Director of Tashkent Branch of Gubkin University, and Mr. Sobir Urinov, Dean of Tashkent Branch of Gubkin University, participated in the meeting.
During the visit, the University representatives were informed about the status of the preparation of the building to be used for academic activities in the premises of Bukhara College of Oil and Gas Industry. Specialized rooms were equipped for training in general subjects such as Russian language, mathematics and physics in accordance with modern standards and requirements with the support of the leadership and staff of the College, Uzbekneftegaz JSC and Bukhara Oil Refinery LLC. The key issues related to the recruitment of qualified teachers for the implementation of training programs were also worked out with the leadership of Bukhara Oil Refinery LLC and the educational authorities of the Bukhara Region. At the moment, the registration of candidates is open for training at the Regional Preparatory Department from among the graduate students of the Bukhara Region. The outcome of the meeting was the decision that sets the dates for the selection events from 5 to 8 December 2022.
In addition, the group of Gubkin University faculty members met with the leadership and teaching staff of professional colleges, academic lyceums and secondary schools in the Bukhara Region to get acquainted with their capabilities and long-term plans for the development of the Regional Preparatory Department.
A group of teachers from the departments of physics, advanced mathematics and the Russian language was formed to further select the most prepared graduate students for enrollment in the Regional Preparatory Department in early December 2022. Students who show good results based on the full cycle of training (December-May) will be recommended for admission at Tashkent Branch of Gubkin University.
