Gubkin University at educational exhibitions in Lebanon
On 1 – 2 November 2021, an educational exhibition series «Go to Russia for Education» was held in Lebanon with the support of the Russian House in Beirut, the representative office of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo). Gubkin University was also represented at the events.
The educational exhibition series was organized in Beirut, Tyre and Baalbek to present the opportunities and benefits of higher education in Russia. Lecturers, professors and scientists from top-ranked Russian universities delivered lectures, master classes, workshops and presentations, shared knowledge and actual projects and told about universities and features of studying. Over 2,200 school and prospective university students attended the exhibitions.
Gubkin University was represented by Mr. Alexander Shcherbina, Head of International Students Office, and Ms. Victoria Mikhedova, Head of Information and Advertising Office. A search for oil and gas is underway in Lebanon, therefore, there might be a strong need for oil and gas specialists in the near future. As one of the leading industry higher education institutions, Gubkin University is ready to offer training of such specialists. Prospective students and their parents, many of whom received their education in Russia, including Gubkin University, were provided with various information materials about the University in the Arabic language and small souvenirs.
In August 2021, Gubkin University at the invitation of Rossotrudnichestvo in Lebanon took part in a series of distance learning programs by Russian universities designed for applicants from Lebanon, Syria and North Africa. The program of Gubkin University received a positive feedback and the University was invited to participate in the educational exhibition series «Go to Russia for Education» in Lebanon.
