During the ceremony, Mr. Zhang Hanhui, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Russian Federation, presented the awards to the winners in the following categories: artificial intelligence, modern production, biology and medicine, modern materials and technologies, modern energy, and biotechnologies.

In his welcoming speech, Mr. Zhang Hanhui emphasized that scientific and technological cooperation is a priority area for bilateral cooperation:

“We encourage contacts and cooperation between scientific and technical institutes, between high- tech enterprises. Together with the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Public Associations, we established this award to encourage young scientists and engineers to join the cooperation in the field of science and technology between China and Russia,” said Mr. Zhang Hanhui.

The Chinese Ambassador Award was established in 2020 by the Chinese Embassy in the Russian Federation and the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Public Associations as part of the annual all-Russian competition “Engineer of the Year”. Since its establishment, 36 outstanding Russian engineers have become the winners of the award.
