UNESCO-Equatorial Guinea International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences
The Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation announces the opening of the UNESCO-Equatorial Guinea International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences.
The UNESCO-Equatorial Guinea International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences rewards significant efforts of individuals or institutions through scientific research towards improving the quality of human life. The Prize was established by the UNESCO Executive Board to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and UNESCO global priorities.
Life sciences hold the key to a better future as they contribute to poverty eradication, improved health, food and water security. The core objectives of the Prize are to encourage research, enhance collaboration amongst researchers and reinforce networks of centres of excellence in the life sciences towards these goals. Funded by the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, the Prize is given annually to a maximum of three laureates. A monetary award of USD 350,000 will be divided equally among the laureates to help further their research.
To apply, candidates should complete an online form in English or French on the official UNESCO website by 31 October 2023. No more than five candidates can be nominated per country.
In addition to completing an online form, interested candidates should inform about their applications the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation via email: nikolaevaaa@minobrnauki.gov.ru. Applications are open up to 2 October 2023 for further selection and submission to UNESCO.
