For university lecturers
On January 22-26, 2018 Gubkin University will host a free training course offered for the University lecturers who teach their subjects in English. The course is developed by the British Council with the support of Shell.
The British Council in partnership with the University of Oxford has developed the Academic Teaching Excellence (ATE), which is a methodology course and offers lecturers hands-on linguistic tools and teaching strategies to communicate with students in an effective manner. It can also help lecturers attract more international students to their course.
The training course is aimed to master professional skills of lecturers who have no linguistic background, including but not limited to the following:
- develop lecture materials and teach masterfully in English;
- deliver lectures for audiences with different levels of English language;
- communicate effectively in English with students who are non-native English speakers;
- hold discussions, and organize work in small groups.
The length of the training course is 5 days (35 hours).
The number of participants is limited to 14 people.
